According to a new research from Vienna University, Facebook has lost a total of 11 million users in the United States and Britain. 48.3% of these users have quit Facebook over privacy concerns.
Social media giant Facebook, like its counterparts, is fraught with a multitude of security issues.  The information shared on Facebook can be spied on and exploited in many ways.

Users might change their privacy settings on facebook to “Friends Only” and feel secure about shared information. The most prudent would set it to “Only Me”.  However, there is no Only Me on Facebook. Information is shared with “Facebook” at least and as it turned out recently, probably the CIA.

Exploitation of personal information

Information shared on Facebook is accessible to government, criminals, hackers and advertisers. According to a recent report by Pew Research Centre, 21% of internet users have had their email or social networking account compromised or taken over without permission.  11% have had important personal information stolen such as their Social Security Number, credit card, or bank account information.
Criminals are actively sifting through the cyber space to use someone’s personal information for illegal activities. Anybody sharing information on Facebook is vulnerable to identity theft.

However, it isn’t just criminals and hackers who could be spying on Facebook communications or misusing information. The recent revelations about the US PRISM surveillance program have raised a huge outcry over privacy issues. This would make their profiles show up in recommendations. In 2012, Facebook revealed that more than 83 million Facebook accounts were fake.

Then there are fake applications all over Facebook. Apps like “Find out who views your profile” are not real. These are just phishing scams. Even if the apps aren’t fake, they access your profile information and put the information at risk. Facebook quizzes are not created by Facebook. They are created by facebook users. When running them, you are giving anonymous programmers permission to access and use your account information.

WordPress Shortcuts for Comment Moderation

You know these days many people are spamming big blogs by doing spams comments to get backlinks, and managing those all comments is really a very tough job.
But WordPress has given us few shortcuts which we can use to say bye bye to all spammers and we can delete comments with push of just one button.
But for getting this feature you will have enable one setting from your WordPress profile.

Simply go to: Profile > Edit profile.

Just enable keyboard shortcuts for comment moderation.

Note: You will have select those comments first which you want to moderate and then use following commands.

• Pressing a will approves the currently selected comment.
• Pressing s will marks the current comment as spam.
• Pressing d will moves the comment to the trash.
• Pressing z will restores the current comment from the trash or activates the Undo when that row is selected.
• Pressing u will unapproves the currently selected comment (send them back into moderation).
• Pressing r will initiates an inline reply to the current comment.
• Pressing q will activates "Quick Edit" which allows for rapid inline editing of the current comment.

How to Add Sticky Posts Widget in Blogger Only on Homepage

If you notice my blog homepage I have recently added a sticky posts widget above all the posts.Which will show selected posts with custom Title and Description only on the homepage and it will be hided on Posts,Labels and Archive Pages.This can be implemented with a simply conditional tag in Blogger Blogs.

Steps to Add Sticky Posts Widget in Blogger:

• Open your Blogger Dashboard.
• Go to Layout and Add a HTML/Javascript Widget at the top of the Blog Posts as shown in the below screenshot.

• In the HTML/Javascript widget you put the following code.

• Above I created a simple code using HTML and CSS. If you are good at CSS then you can go ahead and do some editing to the above code to fit it to design of your blog.
• Now this will appear on all the pages and posts of your blog.You have to restrict this only to homepage just follow the below steps.
• Go to Layout and then click on EDIT Button on your widget to grab the ID of your widget.

You will notice something at the end of the url widgetId=HTML3. Here my widget ID is HTML3, similarly your widget will have some ID, copy it and follow the below steps.

•  Now Go to Template Option from the Blogger Dashboard and search for your widget id and locate it.

Now you should see the sticky post widget only on the homepage and it will automatically hided on the other pages.

Customization:

• If you are good at CSS and HTML then you can do a lot of customization to the sticky posts.Here I am quoting some simple and quick edits.
• Here my blog width is 665px, if your blog width is a little lesser than this or more than this change it to fit exactly to your blog width.
• To change the background color just change background: #e8f2fc
• Similarly you can also change the border colour from #A5CEF6 to colour of your choice.
• To change the link colour you can simply change #004489 from to the colour of your choice.
• Then to place posts of your choice in the HTML widget just replace the title and description in sticky posts widget code which is very simple and straight forward.

When Apple introduced the new operating system on the 18th of September 2013, Apple lovers were awestruck by the new look and feel of it. No specific release date for Kit-Kat has been confirmed by Google yet. But the next iteration of the Android is definitely going to be a huge competition against that of the Apple's.
